How ItemFi works, from picking an item to the programs behind every trade. ItemFi is in beta, so these pages change as it does.
01
Getting started
ItemFi is a token launchpad on Solana where every token is paired with a real-world thing from our catalogue: a bag of dirt, a PS5, a Porsche 911, a whole country. The item sets the price the token opens at. After that the market decides, and ItemFi keeps score of how far the token trades over or under its item.
- 1
Get a wallet
Install Phantom, Solflare or Backpack and press Connect wallet at the top right. Connecting only lets the site read your address and balances.
- 2
Have some SOL ready
Launching and trading are paid for in SOL, plus a small network cost on every transaction.
- 3
Trade, or launch your own
Open any token on Discover to buy and sell it, or go to Launch, pick an item and create a token in one step.
ItemFi is in beta. It is still being built and tested, so features can change, break or be reset without notice.
02
How pairing works
Every token is paired with exactly one item. The item's reference price decides the token's weight class, and with it the market cap the token opens at. At the moment of launch we record how many tokens equal one item, so every token starts at exactly 0% over or under its item.
From then on the sticker on each token shows the gap. Pink and round means the token is trading over its item, yellow means under, and a green starburst means it has graduated. The bar beside it shows the same thing on one line: the item's price is the fixed mark in the middle and the token is the pointer.
Some item prices are live. Cryptocurrencies update every 5 minutes, and shares and commodities such as gold, oil and coffee every 15 minutes. Countries use their latest yearly GDP. Everything else has a fixed reference price with its source and date shown. When an item's price moves, the gap moves with it, even if nobody trades.
Pairing a token with an item sets its opening price from the item's reference price and lets us compare the two afterwards. It does not give you the item, a share in it, or any claim on it. After launch the token's price is set only by people buying and selling it, and it can fall to zero.
03
Launch your token
- 1
Pick an item
Search the catalogue on the Launch page. The item cannot be changed later, so choose the one your token is about.
- 2
Make it yours
Add a name, a ticker of 2 to 10 letters or numbers, a description and a picture. The picture can be cropped and zoomed. Links to X, Telegram and a website are optional.
- 3
Decide on a first buy
You can buy some of your own token straight after it launches, typed as SOL or as a share of the supply. Your wallet asks you to approve twice: once for the launch, once for the buy. The buy is a separate transaction, so it is possible for someone else to buy in between. You pay for those tokens like any buyer, and the token page shows how much you hold and whether you have sold.
- 4
Check and launch
The form shows the weight class, where the token opens and where it graduates. Approve the launch in your wallet. Your wallet creates the token; ItemFi never sees your keys.

04
Opening price
The item's reference price puts your token in a weight class. Pricier items get a bigger raise target: the amount of SOL buyers must put in before the token graduates. A bigger target means the token opens at a higher market cap and takes more buying to graduate, which is why the classes also carry a difficulty.
| Weight class | Difficulty | Item price | Raise to graduate | Opens at | Graduates at |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pocket change | Easy | under $10 | 30 SOL | 9.9 SOL cap | 145 SOL cap |
| Everyday | Normal | $10 to $1,000 | 60 SOL | 19.7 SOL cap | 290 SOL cap |
| Big ticket | Hard | $1,000 to $100,000 | 100 SOL | 32.9 SOL cap | 483.3 SOL cap |
| Luxury | Expert | $100,000 to $100,000,000 | 150 SOL | 49.3 SOL cap | 725 SOL cap |
| Absurd | Boss mode | $100,000,000 and up | 250 SOL | 82.2 SOL cap | 1,208.3 SOL cap |
Market caps in the table are in SOL. The launch form converts them to dollars at the live SOL price before you approve anything.
05
Trading and graduation
A new token trades on a bonding curve: a pool run by Raydium LaunchLab that sells tokens at a price that rises as more are bought and falls as they are sold back. There is no order book and no waiting for someone to take the other side.
Type an amount on the token page and the panel shows roughly what you will get, fee included. Your wallet shows the exact transaction before you approve it. If the price moves more than 2% against you while it confirms, the trade is cancelled and nothing is spent except the network cost.
When buyers have put in the full raise target, the token graduates. Within seconds Raydium moves the raised SOL and the unsold 20.69% of the supply into a regular Raydium pool. From then on the token is traded on sites such as DexScreener, GMGN and Photon rather than on ItemFi, and its page here keeps showing its price, item and history.
Charts, trade lists and holder lists are rebuilt from the chain and can trail it by a few seconds. The numbers in your wallet are the ones that count.
06
Item ladder and flips
Every token climbs the same ladder of catalogue items, from an emu up to whole countries. When a token's market cap passes the price of one of an item, it has flipped that item. Each token page shows the last item flipped, the next one up and how far there is to go.
Flips show up in the live feed as they happen, and every token page has a Share on X button that posts the token with its latest flip. Amounts across the site are also counted in the paired item: a market cap as so many of its item, a buy as a share of one, and your holdings on the Profile page.
A flip is a scoreboard. It compares a market cap with a price; it gives nobody a claim on the item.

Badges
- King of the item
- Several tokens can be paired with the same item. The one with the biggest market cap wears the crown, and loses it the moment another passes it.
- First on the item
- The token that paired with that item before any other.
- Dev holds
- The share of the whole supply in the creator's wallet right now. Creators get no free tokens; anything they hold, they bought.
- Dev sold some / Dev sold
- The creator has sold part, or all, of what they bought on the bonding curve.
- Dev moved tokens
- Tokens left the creator's wallet without a sale on the curve. They were sent to another wallet, or sold on another market after graduation. ItemFi cannot tell which, so treat it as a warning.
- Difficulty
- Pricier items need more SOL to graduate. Pocket change is Easy (30 SOL); Absurd is Boss mode (250 SOL).

Where the fee goes. The fee is taken from each trade by the LaunchLab program itself and held on-chain in vaults that program controls. ItemFi's share can only be collected by the fee wallet recorded in ItemFi's platform account, which anyone can inspect (see Contracts and infrastructure). ItemFi cannot change the fee on a token that has already launched.
At graduation. 90% of the new pool's liquidity is burned, so nobody can pull it, and 10% is assigned to ItemFi. Trades in the graduated pool pay Raydium's own pool fee, not ItemFi's.
These terms may change for future launches before ItemFi runs with real money. This page will be updated if they do.
09
Contracts and infrastructure
ItemFi does not run a smart contract of its own. Tokens are created, traded and graduated by Raydium's programs, which were already live and in use before ItemFi existed. This site is running on Solana mainnet; the addresses below are for that network and open on Solscan.

Off-chain services
The website reads the chain through Helius. Token pictures and details are stored on IPFS through Pinata. Item prices come from CoinGecko (crypto and the SOL price), Yahoo Finance (shares and commodities) and the World Bank (countries). Item suggestions and comments are kept in a Supabase database. None of these can move your tokens: if the website went offline, your tokens would still be in your wallet and tradeable through Raydium.
Each token has its own token address and pool address, shown on its page with a link to Solscan.

Early users
ItemFi is new, and the people using it now are helping shape it: launching the first tokens, suggesting items, reporting what breaks. That does not go unnoticed. Launches, trades and suggestions are tied to the wallet that made them, on the public record.
A platform token, $ITEMFI, is planned. Nothing has been announced or promised about how, when or to whom it will be distributed, and this page is not that announcement. Please do not trade or spend money here in the hope of a reward. Follow ItemFi on X for anything official, and treat any airdrop claim from anywhere else as a scam.
11
Common questions
Do I get the item if I buy the token?
No. Pairing a token with an item sets its opening price from the item's reference price and lets us compare the two afterwards. It does not give you the item, a share in it, or any claim on it. After launch the token's price is set only by people buying and selling it, and it can fall to zero.
Does ItemFi hold my money or my tokens?
No. Your tokens stay in your own wallet, and every launch, buy and sell is a transaction you approve there. ItemFi never asks for a seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is not ItemFi.
Can I change the name, ticker, picture or item after launch?
No. They are written when the token is created and cannot be edited by you or by ItemFi.
Can more tokens be minted later?
No. The whole supply of 1,000,000,000 is created at launch and the right to mint more is removed in the same step. Nobody can freeze your tokens either.
Can the creator pull the liquidity?
No. A creator gets no free tokens and no share of the pool. At graduation 90% of the pool's liquidity is burned for good. A creator can still sell tokens they bought, which is what the dev badges are for.
Why did a token's gap change when nobody traded?
Because its item's price moved. Cryptocurrencies, shares and commodities have live prices, and the SOL price moves the dollar value of every token.
Why can't I trade a graduated token here?
Once a token graduates it trades in a regular Raydium pool. The token page links to DexScreener, GMGN and Photon, where it can be traded.
My wallet isn't showing up. What do I do?
Use Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, make sure the extension is unlocked, then reload the page. On a phone, open ItemFi inside the wallet app's own browser.
The item I want isn't in the catalogue.
Suggest it. Suggestions are reviewed before they appear. People cannot be suggested; the People category is chosen by ItemFi.
Does a person in the People category have anything to do with a token paired with them?
No. Nobody in the People category is affiliated with ItemFi, has endorsed it, or has anything to do with any token paired with their name. The figure shown is a rough public estimate of their net worth, or a made-up value, used only to set a token's opening price.
Is there an airdrop?
Nothing has been announced or promised. See Early users above.

Risks
You can lose everything you put in. Tokens launched here are memecoins. Their prices move fast, most go to zero, and a sale can fetch far less than the price on screen when a holding is large compared with the pool.
Nothing here is advice. Listings, rankings, crowns, flips, the item of the day and comments are not recommendations. Item prices are reference figures that can be out of date or wrong.
You are in control, and responsible. Transactions on Solana cannot be undone. Read what your wallet asks you to approve, and never share a seed phrase or private key with anyone.
Software can fail. ItemFi relies on Raydium's programs, the Solana network and outside price feeds. Any of them can break, pause or be wrong. ItemFi is in beta. It is still being built and tested, so features can change, break or be reset without notice.
The full wording is in the Terms and risks.
